How it all started...
Haitian First Church of the Brethren which is now Fellowship Tabernacle of Faith began with the Late Pastor Verel Montauban doing street evangelism in Brooklyn. He and a couple of other people who joined him; prayed in the homes of people he met with on the streets of Brooklyn. Pastor Montauban gathered a small group of people with Christian faith and went to visit people who were incarcerated, sick in the hospital, the blind, and many more. Pastor Montauban began to invite families into his home; believers of God and unbelievers. They would all reunite together for prayer and bible study; once a week in his own living room of the Montauban’s family.
The need of a church in the community was a request the people who gathered in his home put forward and began to have Sunday worship services in the Montauban’s home. After every worship service, Pastor Montauban’s wife would prepare a delicious meal for everyone to eat together; before departing home.
